In this meditative class, you'll learn how to transform foraged natural pigments into soft pastels, sculpting earth into color with your own hands using pigments collected from landscapes across Los Angeles including red, yellow, and brown earth pigments collected from the Los Angeles Mountains. You'll create a custom set of five tinted pastels in a limited, intentional palette. You'll choose two base pigments, then learn how to mix, bind, and roll them into beautiful soft tints ready for drawing.

At the end of class, we'll do a few light test swipes so you can see your colors in action. Since the pastels need a few days to fully cure, I'll share tips on handling them gently and keeping them safe while they cure.
